The North Carolina Science Teachers Association (NCSTA) was formed in 1969 with the mission of promoting excellence in science teaching and learning in North Carolina. The organization continues to thrive with over 700 members across the state.

All science educators are encouraged to join NCSTA and attend our annual Professional Development Institute (formerly known as "the conference"). We hope you will join us!

Amy D'Amico joined the Smithsonian Science Education Center (SSEC) in 2013 as the Division Director of Professional Services. She oversees Professional Development and Leadership Development initiatives at SSEC.

National Geographic Explorer

Pamela C. Silva Diaz is a mechanical engineer and entrepreneur based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Her work focuses on strengthening climate resilience and adaptation through technology development and collaborative innovation. Through her business, PamLab Design and Engineering, she facilitates participatory design processes in community contexts and provides engineering services to develop hardware solutions.
