Doug Burgess – Middle School teacher at Providence Day School, Charlotte

The Brian Eichenbrenner Teaching Award that afforded him the opportunity
to study/chase tornados in the mid-west.

an 8-foot tornado chamber so that Lower, Middle, and Upper students
could watch the formation of a tornado.
- Made himself
available to all levels to discuss and explain tornado formation.

the Great Smokey Mountains as his laboratory, bringing students there
to do research and conduct/monitor experiments.
