District #7 Outstanding Science Teacher

Sharron Huffman--North Wilkes High School

Sharron Huffman teaches biology and chemistry at North Wilkes High School She is also department chair and a member of the leadership team. In the extended day program she works with students who had problems passing biology in the regular classes. And as Beta Club advisor, she works with the brightest locally and at the state level. She has worked with the local science fairs and the women's track and field program. Her attitude, desire and concern for her students are evident in her classes which are dynamic, enjoyable, and interactive. Their success is evident by test scores and their pursuit of science beyond the classroom. Her accomplishments inside and outside of the classroom illustrate Sharron's effectiveness and excellence as a science teacher. NCSTA, her colleagues and students, thank her for all she has done.
