Michael Dunn--NC Museum of Natural Sciences

Michael Dunn is the Coordinator of Teacher Education. He has coordinated, strengthened, and developed a myriad of programs, workshops, and other staff development opportunities for teachers.He has recently expanded the Museum's Educators of Excellence Institutes through the addition of an institute in Yellowstone National Park. In his capacity as coordinator or teacher trainer for UTOTES (Using the Outdoors to teach Experiential Science), Mike has taken "hands-on" science education to 141 schools and over 2,900 educators across this state. He has been invaluable in the development of the new Museum of Natural Sciences, especially the Mountains-to-Sea exhibit and the 17-minute HDTV film, Wilderness North Carolina . You have touched many lives of teachers and students through your efforts. We and the environment of NC thanks you.
