Marcia Allen--Reynolds High School

Marcia Allen's teaching career has spanned elementary school, high school chemistry at Reynolds High in Asheville, and chemistry at AB Technical College. Marcia teaches all levels of chemistry students and has the ability to make chemistry understandable by all. She has a kindness and compassion that makes her the first one they go to with a problem. Marcia has participated in the Summer Ventures Program at WCU, was involved with the Woodrow Wilson Chemistry Outreach Program and has provided inservice for elementary teachers in Buncombe County for many years. As an active member of NCSTA and NSTA for 20 years she has presented programs at conferences, was District 8 director for NCSTA from 94-97 (doing an excellent job at including all parts of her district in the information sharing and participation), and served on the NSTA High School Committee for 3 years. Marcia always goes the extra mile to serve her students, her colleagues and her profession.
